I swear, for me, the traffic in Austin has gone from annoyance to a legitimate reason to move. There is literally no safe assumptions any more. Bumper to bumper parking lot traffic today at 3:30pm. Mopac, downtown, everywhere. 3:30. Day before Christmas Eve. I work a lot, and don't get much time off, but I didn't work today. Based on traffic, it looks like the whole city worked today. Did you? Curious...

Yeah, I agree that the traffic sucks big time here. My husband worked today, hope he won't be home too late.

Traffic and COL going up a lot each year is starting to make me peak around at other places to live. But, we're hanging in there for now.

I'm not messing with Lakeline Mall today; but the traffic in north north Austin isn't too bad...knock on wood. We'll see what happens in the next hour or so.

Off from work but tried to pop into the grocery nearby for a few things. The roads were backed up like I have never seen. It's getting so I don't even like to leave my house.

I think today is officially the worst traffic I have seen in Austin at 3:30 on a week day... Ever. I was blown away.

everyone - this is a small price to pay - soon it will all die down, the students will be out of town and for 2 glorious weeks it will feel like 2008 again.

What? It's like a ghost town downtown, Hyde Park, Lamar, etc. Just got from 38th Street to 12th Street in about 5 minutes.

Students have already left town long ago, UT graduation was the first week of December, finals the week after. MoPac was horrible today but I have local alternatives for everywhere I need to go and those routes were fine.

1st, Lavaca, 5th, 6th, etc. People define downtown differently I suppose. I don't consider Hyde park and 38th downtown. Mopac, 360, Bee Cave, it was absolutely nasty central today in terms of traffic... Still is
