Yeah. I still don’t really get it either but those were the reasons given. And yes, I think the cloud cover really dampened the tourist count.

Covid attacks again.

I started feeling symptoms on the day of the eclipse. Originally thought it was only allergies as I have been having allergy flare ups off and on this season. Took a zyrtec and the following day (Tuesday I think) basically allowed for a sludge of caked snot to dry up in my nasal passages (painful). Mucinex, tons of water, and hot showers later I felt decent. Worked that day through sweltering fevers.

The following day (Wednesday I think) was the worst. Woke up at 3 AM with nasal drip and an uncontrollable cough (which Im still dealing with). The fevers were worse so I took another hot shower and that started to make me really cough alot.. to a point where I couldn't stop. I ended up coughing so much that it triggered an involuntary vomit (even though I hadnt felt nausea or felt like vomiting before) ... jumped out the shower, vomited uncontrollably for about 30 minutes, just triggered anytime I coughed. The cough was tearing into my throat. Felt like I was slicing into my throat with knives every time I coughed and I couldn't stop. At this point I was considering visiting the emergency room because I couldn't stop coughing and it was killing my throat, but I held off. The pain was atkin to the time I had my tonsils removed. Stumbled through the house, found some Ibuprofen and took 800MG and tried to remain still / calm. About 6am I ended up placing several HEB mobile orders for Honey, Orange Juice, Tussin, Cough Drops and a few other items. They arrived at about 8:30am ... doused myself with straight honey and Tussin. That helped the cough a bit. Worked that day and took a few interviews as well (which I explained to them I was sick and it would be difficult for me to speak. Two of them saw me, one of them rescheduled).

The day after, still dealing with fevers. My bed is now just a pool of sweat. I've been dousing myself with Vitamin C, Orange Juice, Honey, and Tussin. The cough randomly comes and goes. The throat is in alot of pain, much worse than an ordinary sore throat. I can only tolerate it with Ibuprofen or Aspirin. Goody's BC's make the fever tolerable enough to work through. Eating sparingly (only soups if I can tolerate the pain going down my throat). My nasal passages are clearing up though and fhe fevers have become more tolerable.

Friday the fevers were gone, just alot of congestion and my throat pains which I had no easy rememdy for. My throat is now swollen and I can feel it whenever I eat / drink something as it immediately causes me to try to gag or cough. Most coughs now are dry / non producing. Using Tussin now only to handle the throat pains and involntary coughs since it acts as a cough suprressent. The weekend goes by the same.. Monday I had enough and went to a primary care physician where I normally get my albuterol prescriptions filled. Also got tested, tested positive.

They prescribed prednisone and a cough suppressent. I received those prescriptions and began on the cough suprresent. It helped but even with Tussin and the cough suprresents combined, I'm still coughing alot .. some of the throat pain is gone but its still swelled and very easy to irritate and cause me to cough.

Fun times.

Hope you're feeling better, N4C!!
Did you take the Covid test?
Best for cough are Thessalon pearls, works for me. Maybe your Dr. can send RX to your pharmacy. Your ribs will hurt from coughing anyway
Get better soon!!

I took it and tested positive. Didn't get any sleep tonight so work is going to be a pain today. Will look into Tessalon Perles.

Hope you feel better soon. If you place another HEB order, I swear by Peppermint Tea. I like the Traditional Medicinal brand - tastes good, and the only ingredient is peppermint.

A doctor recommended it to me once when I was sick, and it really does help. Add honey to help with your throat. But peppermint naturally helps with nausea and inflammation, so when added to the other stuff you're taking, it sort of just gives them a little boost.

I also got my mechanic sick it seems. I went ahead and ordered him some relief meds and orange juice from HEB and had it delivered to him too.

I've been surviving on Chik Fil A chicken noodle soup these past few days with doordash delivery, and chicken tenders and honey roasted bbq sauce. Can't down any caffine, soda or coffee which is crappy... but good for my diet.. my gut is going down ... I need to get back to the gym.

I hope this isn’t an omen for me. I’ve gotten it the past two Mays. Once the week of birthday and the second the week before. I have an outpatient medical procedure schedule for the 20th and had to miss a buncha days in April because I got a stomach thing.

Please don’t get back to the gym too quickly. I know quite a few people who tried to jump in too quickly post COVID and it messed up their recovery.

Think I’ll wear a mask to the hospital clinic tomorrow for the follow-up with the cardiologist.
Just to be cautious.
