I bet Jr wanted to go to Olympics. He's a pretty big sports fan and that's a helluva spectacle and something new. Probably good to not be a speed weeks and regret retiring as well. Anyway, I loathe the Olympics but might watch whatever Jr is covering. Maybe bobsled? Which is fun anyway.

It's been a long time since i went to a race without have a Favorite DRIVER to root for...
I half expect to jump on the Chase Elliott Bandwagon and was rooting for him hard last year to win a race.. so close.. i also expect most of Jr's fans to do the same..

I also expect that young Byron kid to do well and might even win before Chase does.. that would be something..

Not an Olympics fan either but I will definitely have an eye open for JR when scanning those channels.

i too am liking chase elliot. i still wonder who will win their first race first, elliot or suarez? they both had some close races in 2017, i expect more this season. i think suarez wins his first race before chase does, mostly because he is the more aggressive of the two.

That's great news. No matter what you think of her driving ability, she brings other positive things that many of the other current drivers do not.

I agree on Suarez. I think he'll get a win faster and this year. He's a good driver and willing to put his car where it needs to go to win. Chase doesn't seem to have that same instinct so will probably take longer but is also a good driver so it'll happen sooner or later.

Hey race fans! I've been away from NASCAR for a few years and want to get back into it but where do I start?! Things have been pretty crazy the last few years with finishing college, babies, working, etc. But things have finally calmed down, done with school, regular job hours, and the kids are a bit older now.

I know a few of the big name drivers are gone and the teams have been shook up the last few seasons but what else is going on? Any good sources you all recommend? Also, are there any daily NASCAR shows still on. I think I remember seeing one on Fox Sports and NBCSN, does that that sound right? Are they only on during the season?

I live in upstate NY (born and raised in GA). I plan on going to the Watkins Glen race and maybe one other? What's the best track to visit that would be within a reasonable days drive from the upstate NY area? Might even talk the wife into going down to Daytona for the 2019 500. Thanks guys!

Assuming she gets a ride for Daytona.

Having a sponsor goes a long way, but at this point.. She's not getting a ride with a top team.

In other news.. It is looking more and more like BK Racing is done. Word is that their haulers are being auctioned off to satisfy debts.

So.. Do we have a count of teams that will not return? Let's assume the 2 BK cars and we know that the 77 FRR car won't be back.. I feel like I'm forgetting some here.. Not counting things like the 5 car, which is basically just switching numbers. Ah.. Childress #27.. Which is really the only prayer for a quality ride for Danica.. RCR could do a one off pretty quick for her, I think.

We're adding a Penske car for Blaney.. TMG and Circle Sport split SUPPOSEDLY will mean another car, but.. I am suspect of either team hitting the track. Circle Group 'merged' with the #32. So, this will likely wash out to be a net loss of one car (TMG not running, Circle merges with the 32 which already existed). Rick Ware SAYS they acquired a charter, and will run Ford, Chevy and Toyota this year. Which translates to me that they'll either never or seldom actually get on track.

I count that we'll likely be 4 teams short from last years' full timers.. Which means fields of 36 cars at times.
