155 in a 1976 Chevy Blazer back in 1980 on the I-5. My speedometer did not go that high but my friends Ferrari did.
Took my bike up to 150 on PCH, felt safer than the truck did at that speed.
I'm not entirely sure. Back in my Air Force days I was stationed at an air base that was way out in the middle of nowhere. The next town was about 20 miles away, and it was a straight highway shot.
I was driving an older model Chevy Impala with a V8. The speedometer pegged out at 110 mph.
There wasn't any traffic on a particular Sunday morning so I floored the gas pedal and pegged out the speedometer. I keep the pedal floored for a little while longer until the car felt like it had stopped gaining speed.
I released the pedal from the floor and started counting the seconds before the speedometer needle began to show the decrease in speed. It took 21 seconds before the needle moved off the 110 mph mark.
I've had my CTS up to 132 (GPS reading). It had a little bit more in it, but I had to slow down for my exit.
I had a '91 BMW 525i up to an indicated 130 a couple times.
My '91 GMC is set up with a low, tight suspension and Z-rated tires. I once had it up to an indicated 140, but given the slightly shorter-than-stock tires and inaccuracies of speedometers at high speeds, I figure 120-125 is a more realistic estimate.

When I was a kid I had a 73 firebird.
I know, not the best year for pontiac but I did have it up to 124 - 126 by the speedometer on the flats east of Mt. Hood in Oregon heading towards Warm Springs.
For any legal beagles out there reading this, that was nearly 30 years ago.
Probably the only dead straight, wide and relatively unbusy road in england you can attain such speeds in a car that takes about 5 miles to accelerate to such a velocity.
obviously im not going to say if thats kph or mph as that could be incriminating.

Lmao, a 76 Blazer couldn't reach 155 mph even if it were dropped out of a plane. Its top speed was 95 mph and that was with a tailwind and going downhill
Even the 76 Vettes topped out at 135. 1976 was a crap year for automobiles. I doubt there were even several models that could exceed 150mph
The fastest I've ever driven a car is about 120, but I was a passenger in a '67 or '68 Grand Prix which pegged the 140 or 160 mph speedometer (I forget which).
On a motorcycle, I've maxed out the 90 mph speedo and then some.
In an 18 wheeler, it was about 110, determined by timing the mile markers with a stop watch.
The fastest I ever WALKED was roughly 552 mph. Yes, that's right....552 mph walking. The airplane I was in was doing 550 when I walked from the back of the plane to the front, which meant I was going faster! :-)
