LOL!! That's "old" these days? My 2001 car (that I drive daily) has an OEM cassette and no CD.
My first car had quadraphonic 8-track (mid 70's car in mid 80's). I remember jamming out the The Muppets on 8-track in my folks car (and the Star Wars soundtrack, still have an "in shrinkwrap" 8-track of that kicking around somewhere).
Still remember cassette... lol
oo, I totally forgot about 8-track!! We didn't have a car in 'those days', but we did have an eight track player at home.
Aftermarket GPS, A/C, automatic transmission, a good AM/FM radio, heater, power windows/locks, steering wheel audio controls, 0-60 in less than 10 seconds, at least 20 MPG, anti lock brakes, stability control, and six airbags are the basics. I like a built in GPS, leather seats, XM radio, heated seats, climate control, CD player, 0-60 around 6-7 seconds, and some other things. My 2011 Honda Accord V6 EX-L has all of these features, including a built in GPS, and only 77,000 miles. Then again I am only 22 so I'm not going to be coming back with a new car any time soon unless Emily gets totaled. I take good care of her.
I could not live without A/C, power brakes, power steering, automatic transmission, comfortable seats with a lumbar support, a good radio, and excellent tires.
A lot of this was learned after commuting on a motorcycle for 5 years but also holds true for cars.
What car do you have with the one touch close on all windows? That's a feature I really like, it's on the Prius and the VW Golfs.
Lexus. And some people say you can judge the quality of a car by how strong the window motors are. Let's just say on my Lexus they seem very strong. No struggle to open or close. It does it with force
Out of all the improvements made over a century plus of automobile refinement, you chose lack of push button start as a deal breaker?
How about power windows, power brakes, cruise control, fuel injection, air bags, crumple zones, anti-lock brakes, safety glass, seat belts, automatic transmissions, brake lights, turn signals, or tubeless tires?
I agree with questioning the push button start as that means nothing to me but for your others listed...
Power windows- convenient but no issue with manual ones.
Power brakes- My old Mustang doesn't have them, just requires more pressure
Cruise control- what is this?
Fuel injection- No issues pumping the gas pedal a little bit before I start it.
Air bags, crumple zones, seat belts, safety glass - Not really features but mandated safety equipment.
Auto transmission- Manual is much more fun to drive.

Those you listed are not modern inventions. I guess I should have been more specific. Talking about new features from say 2000+
Those things you listed are from 50 to 100 years ago and standard on pretty much every car. You don't go to the dealer lot and asking for cars with only anti-lock brakes or turn signals or cruise control. It's a given those are mandatory or standard on every US car.
