The base models and their Corsica counterpart were rental fleets.

The GTZ was the hotrod of the Beretta line but I'm not sure they were that noteworthy.

I had 3 friends with brand new Berettas (one GT, one GTZ and one INDY) and I would have rather had a new 16V GTI for the same money back then.
The teal and yellow colors (and the pink "INDY" letters, even) are classic 90s colors that I thought the Beretta looked good in. Corsicas are awesome as well.

A magazine compared the Quad 4 5 speed Beretta GTZ against the E30 M3...I'd rather have the GTZ.

I had an 8v GTI (bought one the first year of the mk2, 1985) and it was very fun (have two mk2 Jetta 8vs now) but GM was cranking out amazing vehicles in the 1980s.

I just like odd cars that people don't normally like, including these:

I liked that many cars came in a variety of body styles. Example, the Chevy Cavalier came in 2 door, 3 door (hatchback), 4 door, station wagon, or convertible. Many compacts and midsize cars cam in 2, 4, or wagon body styles. Part of the appeal of the 80s style cars was they had to make them look exciting since most weren't exciting. The mid to late 70s tried to make their cars exciting through pinstripe tape and bold drug induced colors. The 80s Mustang GT was the beginning of the return to performance. Say what you will about the 80s Fox platform, that body style pony car was original and sold well. While Chrysler/Dodge made some pretty good big cars, they never had a successful compact or subcompact car. Their most successful models in these small sizes were thanks to Mitsubishi. But when Mitsubishi dropped, so did Chrysler.

I loved the Conquest TSI & the Mazda as well, in this review they had the 300ZX & they were terrible back then.

The TSI was beautiful a poor mans Porsche.

I graduated high school in 1983. When I was in high school I remember the cars that kids wanted were the BMW 320I, The Nissan Z series cars such as the 240Z on up to the 280Z, Chrysler K car convertibles were big, and Ford Bronco or Chevy Blazer (Or GMC Jimmy) Then there was the Pony Cars, Mustang, Cammero, or Firebird.

My all time favorite car was the Ferrari 308 GTS from the Magnum P.I. TV Show. Funny thing is that another 80's favorite almost got the nod for that show. Magnum was supposed to drive a Porsche 944 or 928 but because of Tom Selleck's height they asked Porsche to make a Targa version of the car and the company said no way. The Studio went with the 308 GTS because of that, as it already had a removable top. I still want one of these cars.

The Z cars from Nissan as well as the Supra's and MR2's were fun cars from that era as well.

I actually liked all of the Chrysler/Shelby cars from back then as well as the Pontiac Fiero, Buick GN/ t-Type, Mustang SVO and the Turbo '89 Trans Am.

My favorite car from the 80's was a 1979 Chevy Monte Carlo.

My favorites from the '80s:

Mercedes 560SEC, preferably the AMG widebody:

Though the narrowbody version would do in a pinch:

BMW 635CSi (like it better than the M6 for some reason):

and off in left field, the '86 CRX Si:

and the FC RX7 convertible:

IROCZ, Trans AM GTA, Buick Grand National, GMC Cyclone (wow that thing was crazy fast for the time), Beretta GT/GTU/GTZ, Pontiac Sunbird GT Turbo (Wicked fast 0 to 60 and more than a hand full of torque steer but would run with Irocs and Mustangs up to around 70), Fiero GT, Mustang GT. Loved the C4 Corvettes at the time, in particular the 89's with that particular wheel style they had for a couple of years. I don't care for the C4's so much now as they have that dated 80's look that just didn't age well, especially the interior design. lol

I am sure there are a couple I am not thinking of right now but that is the highlights.

I would love to have a pole barn filled with cars from the 80's. You could fill it up for the price of a Hemi Cuda.
