Oh yeah, I certainly would do the same .
It’s just that 3 row luxury SUV’s are so hot with families these days, so I’m curious to know what people would rather buy. The X5 sells more units than a Mustang despite costing twice as much, but if given a choice I’d take the mustang GT and also add the PP2 package. As for kids, my 10 year old nephew loves engine sounds and looking under the hood, he will enjoy the Sunday drive
My X5 cost me $13K, because I bought it used for cash. I’ve driven it for 2 years with minimal issues, will drive it for 2 more, and then hand down to my son to use who will start driving then.
Most people buying a car in this class are pulling in close to $250 K.
Shoot. I pull in that sort of money and I drive a paid-off 6-year old Taurus.
I'd never consider buying/leasing a car that expensive. But then again i'm a 39-year old with kids, house and building an investment portfolio to help with early retirement. If I was 24 and single and had my current income, i'd be driving a Shelby GT500 right now.

You're not that much above our household income, and my wife and I have a 2008 Prius and a 2017 Camry, which we considered kind of a splurge.
I'm planning on running the Prius long enough for the range on plug-in hybrids or electric cars to cover my normal driving demands, which are not infrequently 250 miles a day, round trip.
No way would I spend that much. I just don't see how the pleasure, or comfort, or whatever you get out of it, is worth it. I would like to get another car with a sunroof, though.

Are you a car guy? If not, that's why. As a car guy, I can think of cars I'd have no problem spending a half million, a million, or more on and be worth it.
For example, I'd love a 2006 Ford GT40 Heritage edition, and they are going for nearly a half million now. Or a '63 Ferrari 250 Lusso. But those are 1.5 million these days. I'd take a new Aston DBS Superleggera at $375k, but I'd want to custom order it to my specs. Always wanted to do that.
maybe this is crazy but i dont think that a person earing $120k a year should be buying/leasing an $80k car.
im sure i wouldnt pay the premium to have 21 miles of battery life.

I agree with both of these, but is it really needed/relevant to the thread? It derails it to a "lease vs buy" or "can I afford it?" thread and that's not the point.
The question is, which would you prefer?
I like the Lincoln myself. People dump on the short EV range, but sometimes I think they miss the point. "21 miles isn't much." No, it isn't. But if you commute 15 miles to work, then you've increased your fuel economy 2.3X assuming you can't plug in at work.
I'd go with a used Model X from Tesla (with 4 year warranty).
Simply between the two cars, I vote for X over Aviator. Driving a Tesla is like driving a time machine, the tech is a decade ahead of other car companies, even ignoring the drivetrain.

But do you really want to deal with expensive repairs when the model X does have issues down the road ?
