Haven't had a chance to see the numbers to commentm Victorino is an upgrade over Abreu though. I would have preferred Soriano. But maybe not at the price.

I keep finding info which says the Pence deal has yet to be completed. A Giants vp just denied that it was done a few minutes ago.
If it is done, the supposed return is minor league catching prospect Tommy Joseph. That can't thrill Joseph too much, he is moving from being blocked by Posey to being blocked by Ruiz.
So far it has been lose/lose for both teams, neither pitcher has shown any improvement in their new environments.
Guthrie has made two starts for KC and been rocked twice, 11 earned runs in ten innings of pitching.
Sanchez has also been hitter friendly, also giving up 11 earned runs in two starts, but requiring two fewer innings to do so than Guthrie.
Both have excelled at running up really fat pitch counts. Sanchez needed 82 pitches to record 4 innings his first start, then 84 to record 4.1 innings. Guthrie needed 105 pitches to finish the fifth inning three days ago, 91 pitches for five innings in his previous start.

Meanwhile, Jeremy Guthrie went 6 innings in KC facing 24 hitters. He K'd 4 while walking 2 and giving up 2 runs on 4 hits.
Bawcom is a minor league right-hander. He's 23 and in AA. He's had some huge K rates in the low minors. A good k-rate since moving to AA this year. He walks a lot, but not an ungodly number. A minor league reliever
Landry is a 23 year old CFer. He's got some speed and a little pop. He doesn't K too much, but doesn't walk. Not sure if his D will keep him in center. He has some potential, but is far from a sure thing.
League is a good, not great reliever. Not sure why Ned thinks we need him other than he loves veteran relievers.

Sanchez has made 3 starts facing 57 hitters with Colorado. He's struck out 16%, walked 16% and given up 2.4 HR/9 innings. That's an expected runs allowed of 6.85
With KC he was 13% K's, 16% BB's and 1.4 HR/9. Expected runs allowed of 6.33
Guthrie has mad3 4 starts facing 101 hitters with Kansas City. He's struck out 18%, walked 5% and given up 1.1 HR/9 innings. That's an expected runs allowed of 4.32
With Colorado he was 11% K's, 7% BB's and 2.1 HR/9. Expected runs allowed of 6.21
