If they finish with the worst record, there isn't a guarantee that they will get the first pick. MAYBE the owner will want them to tank the season. We'll see.

NONE of the assistant coaches from last year were retained.

He always seemed to be very active on the sidelines talking to players and doing more coaching than Doug collins

One way to "tank" a season is just to not sign any decent players. I think Philly did this as best as they could.

Lebron
Kobe

WPD - The report that I heard on Comcast Sportsnet - or was it WIP - was that NONE of the assistants was retained. I guess that we will start hearing who they sign as assistants fairly soon.

The NBA has that lottery. So even of they have the worst record, there is no guarantee that they will get the #1 pick.

Guess it makes sense when you are a new coach and want to make your mark in the league.

That's why I am still confused Chip Kelly wants to start a guy at QB who is 10-13 the last 2 seasons as a starter

Chip Kelly didn't keep last year's coaches either, except for 1 or 2 of them. Very few new head coaches do, regardless of the sport - unless forced to.
