I'm hearing predictions of 'no contest, GSW over Cleveland,' GSW sweep, etc. that seem quite off to me. Golden State to me has looked vulnerable through the playoffs, especially against Houston. Obviously they are the favorite, but not overwhelmingly so.
I think Game 3 is going to be the key to the series, I expect the Dubs to win the first two at home, maybe close, maybe blowouts. If the Cavs can somehow win Game 3, and take that momentum into Game 4 and win that game, who knows, the Dubs could still win in 6, but it will at least make the series competitive, maybe!
Cleveland needs a slow, choppy game with lots of fouls to make this close. They won't outrun or outshoot the Warriors. They can't match the Warriors' talent. They need to decrease the possession count and limit transition opportunities.
Looney can play. Bell is still young, but shows a lot of promise. Livingston's fallen off, and just doesn't have it anymore. Pat McCaw didn't improve much and has been missing to injury for some time. If the Cavs play Tristan Thompson, the Warriors can keep a traditional big in, which will be helpful for their lineups.
My point is that this Warriors team has been on a downgrade of late. They lost Ian Clark, who was pretty good off the bench, and brought in Nick Young who has not been good. Green has a shoulder issue and is shooting .417 fg% (.277 3pt) for the playoffs (.447/.410 in last year's playoffs). Livingston has obviously declined this year. Iggy is out and can't be expected to return 100%. He's getting older too, anyway (turns 35 in 2018-19 season.
Sure they are still the favorites, but they have their problems to overcome.
I imagine GSW will retool this summer. The good news for them is that they can attract guys who want a chance for a ring.
I think the odds of Cavs winning go down drastically with even a game ONE loss. They need to jump on the Warriors early because I don’t think this version of the Warriors is letting a team dig out of a hole like 2016. Winning games 1 and 3 would would set the tone for a potential Cavs championship. The 3s seem to start raining when the Warriors can play loose with a lead.
According to most people, the Cavs shouldn't even show up in The Finals because they don't have a snowball chance in Hell. Plus, everybody and their mama wanted a young Celtics team or the Raptors. Also, almost everybody is rooting for the Cavs to lose nationally (media and fans) so LeBron can leave and Cleveland will go back to being an irrelevant sports city because that's what everybody wants anyway. They feel Cleveland doesn't deserve a damn thing nice.

Predictable officiating so far, refs have to keep this game interesting so they’ll be favoring the Cavs with many fouls. I don’t blame them
