Thanks for the pics TimCity2000.

All of the UAB buildings are so much better than the older ones. The new styling is much more timeless and easy on the eyes. Only thing I don’t like is the striped wall on the proton therapy building. It does not look great. Wonder why they did that instead of just all brick?

Also - anyone know what they’re doing with the lot next to Fairfield? Sadly my guess is turn it into parking, but it would be a nice spot for some infill.

According to Iron City Ink, the project at the old Lindsey Office Furnishing's warehouse at 2409 Morris Ave (across from Carrigans) will be a 3 story development that will aim to keep "as much of the warehouse as possible". Planned uses for the space include retail, restaurants, and office.

Morris Ave is about two years away from being the premiere spot in the city. Two more places are about to open at Founders Station, Orchestra is looking for retail on the bottom of the Shuttlesworth building, a few other random buildings are being worked on that I've noticed, Mercantile on Morris will be a big addition, Omni Building is being turned into loft rentals, the building across from Omni is being worked on, that short white and black building at the end was bought not too long ago, and this project.

My hope is that some of the surface lots get turned into some nice infill and utilize the Morris Ave Lot instead. I also hope some more of the offices incorporate retail on the ground floor.

Childrens of Alabama Office and Parking Deck:

makes you realize just how short 12 stories of parking really is.

Awfully glad they decided to continue the motif of the main building with that cladding. Few things are uglier than a parking deck.

I’m no fan of parking decks, but agree glad they kept the same styling of the cladding. Seems like they left space in front of it for a future expansion.

If y’all wanna see an awful parking deck and screening, go check out Legacy Union in Charlotte.

Certainly one of the better looking parking decks in the state. Hopefully they'll have some nice accent lighting to tie it together like the main building.

Let’s take bets: is the new stadium completed in time for the World Games? I say no.

Considering the average time it takes to complete a project like that, I'd say you're correct.

I am not taking that bet.
