And yet another classic hbcu game being played in Birmingham for the next three years, with an option for two additional years...

You know, having two stadiums actually puts Birmingham at an advantage. So when some call for Legion Field to come down, I think we should invest a little into the old gray lady. Along with the new lighting, I'd like to see a nice modern video/ scoreboard, and an extensive new landscaping plan. Also, redo/ re-imagine the restroom and concession areas. We have a new stadium, so I'm not suggesting the city sink hundreds of millions into LF, but some targeted key upgrades could really benefit the city. Again, not many cities have two major football stadiums to recruit sporting events!

Don't know the last time you been inside LF, but the jumbotron they installed a few years ago is legit, as far as quality. (Scroll down to 2nd pix) https://wbhm.org/2021/fans-of-legion...ut-its-future/ . Along with the new LED lighting..

Press box roof replacement
Replace seating in two premium seating areas
Repaint rails at lower premium seating (East and West Sections)
Repaint seat numbers
Repaint row numbers
New electric hand dryers at some restrooms
Toilet partition replacement, grab bars, misc.
New concession and restroom wayfinding signs.

But yeah, having a 71K and 47K seats venue isn't too bad.

Yeah, I'll admit it's been awhile! Lol! I used to go to the Macic City Classic every single year from 96 til about 2004.

It's a 150 foot tall LED jumbotron installed in 2015. I think it might be just a bit taller than the one at Protective, but that one is definitely much wider, though. The one at Protective is much closer to the surface as compared to the one at LF which sit much higher up.
