America BC (Barry Fell)

Popular '70s theory on pre-Columbus/Erikson European travelers to New World. I know a lot of Fell's evidence and theories have since been discredited, but it's still an interesting look at dated speculation.

Default Squeeze Me by Carl Hiaasen

Carl Hiaasen's Squeeze Me is an excellent read, as almost all Carl Hiaasen books are. I give it four stars rather than five since Hiaasen is clearly swept up by Trump Derangement Syndrome. Even without the unnecessarily harsh satirizing the book had me roaring with laughter on numerous occasions. Other reviews on Goodreads stated that the book may offend those who support Trump to a certain extent. I certainly am not offended, though I am planning on voting for Trump in early voting next weekend.

What I can't figure out is, if Florida is such a dystopia why does he stay. But that mystery persists through 27 years of reading Hiaasen.

Just finished "The Miniaturist" by Jessie Burton https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/...he-miniaturist

This was a 3 star read for me, I wasn't really that taken by it.

"Things Can Change. Every Woman Is the Architect of Her Own Fortune. I Fight to Emerge."

This was printed on my last library receipt: Books can be dangerous, the best ones should be labeled, This could change your life.

I read Beneath a Blanket of Snow, which was for book club and the author is a friend of someone in the group. It was actually a lot better than I expected, and it was a very good read. In normal times, I might say it was a beach read as in pretty quick and engrossing. I think it was self published and is only on kindle.

Thanks- I never ever heard of Never Cry Wolf and I have added it to my list. ( it's also available on kindle from my library and is under 300 pages, AND has a good rating on goodreads!).

I just started This Tender Land.

Just finished "Daisy Jones & The Six" by Taylor Jenkins Reid https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/...-jones-the-six

I really had higher hopes for this one, but it felt like a 3 star read for me.

Hi Mayvenne,

Could not have put it better, "Daisy Jones & The Six", there wasn't a lot of there there.

I hate to say it but I thought the same thing about "This Tender Land" and did not even finish it. Will be interested to know what you thought of it.

Have a good weekend!
