To some facts are snide remarks, as they can't face the truth so they try to cover it over with negative terms.

I was just keying of the word "obsessed".. You sure do care about the state of affairs in California, for one that moved away... Which I suppose is fine, you still have close ties to the state...
I moved four years ago, still have friends and family and yes, am still interested. Yes, I love where I live now, but that doesn't preclude continuing to be interested in where I lived all my life. I don't get where to some you're supposed to stop all interest. Now, do I want to go back for a visit? Not really. Maybe if it was to one of the places I never got to, like Yosemite, but I'd stay away from where I had been. I have great memories along with bad ones, and the places where the great memories happened have changed by now. I like to be able to hold the good ones inside just as they were.

You don't break the connection when you move, especially after being there a long long time. And you don't quit caring either, especially when things are effecting friends and family.
