I agree with the part of the article which states that Californians are concerned about the economy but we don't see any Republican as a viable alternative. That is exactly how I feel at this point in time.

The poll by The Times and the USC Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences underscored the abrupt alterations in the Republican contest. Romney has been campaigning for the presidency for years; Perry had been in the race for mere days before vaulting into the shared lead in California.

But the survey also showed that Obama's strength in California has endured despite deep dissatisfaction among voters with the economy. In hypothetical matchups, Obama led Romney by 19 points, Perry by 24 points and Bachmann by 26 points.

I am interested in Jon Huntsman but he'll never win and I prefer Obama to any of the other Republicans in the race.

You prefer Obama??? That's insanity unless you want more destruction of the middle class, a deeper economic crisis, more unemployment, more illegal aliens, more debt, more cronyism, a depression, and more divide in this country.

I agree that Obama has not been able to fix those problems.

He didn't create them however.

No, he didn't create the problems but he was elected to fix them and he has failed and he has made them much worse.

The world was perfect until Obama came along, DONT YOU KNOW.

In all seriousness, he was handed a bad situation which he only exacerbated. But no matter how poorly a left-leaning pol performs, Californians will always give them a second chance and then complain that nothing ever changes.

He only failed because the GOP would rather destroy the country than have a successful Obama. If ARRA had been three or four times larger we would not be in this fix.

Interesting that under FDR the CCC bill was passed in April, and by July 600,000 men were in the CCC with all the attendant expenditures, and that was just one facet of his recovery program.

We could do the same thing today, but the Republicans would rather see the end of democracy.
