Lets see...$2,000 saved, wants a place by the beach for $750 and has no job but wants to move to one of the most expensive areas in the entire country. Thats how homeless people start out. Great plan!

JayceD -- It's not that I don't understand. When I was 18 I packed up -- with virtually no money -- and moved to San Diego. I lived with my mother's life-long friend, and I quickly got a well-paying job simply because I could type fast and accurately. The country has changed in the past 50 years. You simply cannot take just $2000, move to Stockton or Fresno, and think you're going to find a job that pays well enough to support yourself. We have college graduates working in fast-food places! IF they can find a job.

You need to stop and think. In fact, I honestly don't believe you are for real. ;-) Sorry.

Eureka/Arcata maybe. Unspoiled beaches at least. Inexpensive. Seasonal jobs helping harvest of the local cash crop.

Fine. 'Have the experience.' Just don't expect my tax dollars to support your not-exactly-intelligent decisions. When you're homeless and hungry, be sure to go to only private organizations for help.

And, like I said, I'm not so sure you're for real, so I'm out of here. Enjoy your 'experience'.

I think you should strongly consider:

* Mojave
* Baker
* California City, or
* Boron

I would add Biola, Mendota, and Fireball. He could also consider Kettleman City to be closer to the coast.
