I know the legislature is 100% to blame. The dmv is just following the law & doing their jobs. Owning a car in ca is not cheap.

Can we work on an exception to paying 400+ for a 2002 truck?

Dang, that's quite a bit for a vehicle 15 years old. Truck or no truck, that's too much. Registration and insurance are the primary reason I don't upgrade my '97 Jeep GC to a newer vehicle. I'm paying $119 for a 20-year-old vehicle. Can't even imagine what registration is like for a new one.

Just paid online, which included a little fee, for a 2006 Truck, $29.00. Of course I am currently in TN. Drat went up from $24.00. Oops it would have been the same if I had not paid online.

I know I dropped from having 6 to 4 cars/trucks. My costs here went from a total of $150.00 plus any online fees to a total for 4 of ... $100.00 plus any online fees.

This is why I want a cabin in another State. The first order will be a new home address on everything. Or my buddies place where I can rent a room in yuma. That will work too

This is what a lot of the rich do. They have a home in a State with no income tax and a vacation residence in CA.
