Mgr, I do feel bad for those who had no insurance, especailly young single parents, who may also have lost their job in Paradise, as well as their (rented) home. I hope that the Fund will pay them a reasonable amount. It's a giant mess, that's for sure.

I agree and they should have all been compensated well for everything they lost and went through. Their lives are irrevocably changed and not for the better.

We don't expect much, we had insurance, & have bought a home.

But no amount of money can make up, for the loss of precious items from deceased love ones, & photos. That's what breaks my heart, the irreplaceable gifts.

But there are some people who still desperately need help, & I hope they will get enough to start again.

@evening sun, I haven't been following it but do you know if there's a class action lawsuit against PG&E filed by those who had no insurance and are in need of compensation?

I'm so sorry you lost irreplaceable memories. Guess that's where the term "fire consumes" came from. It does exactly that.

AFAIK, people who had no insurance are in the same lawsuit against PGE, as those who had insurance. Everyone will get a different amount for the losses. Insurance payments will be deducted from any claims.
I think some people are counting on the money to rebuild, but I'm not so sure that will happen, especailly as construction supplies are getting more expensive.

Ah, thanks. Yeah, about those construction costs. The price of lumbar alone is enough to make you have a stroke.

Too true, we need to repair part of our deck, & I'm dreading the bill.

If they do not have the money by now they should due the ones making huge amounts and doing nothing to get the money to the victims.

Suing people costs money. And people are already paying the lawyers a big chunk of any settlement. They probably have already signed something in the small print of the current lawyers contract. Plus if they are depressed since the fire, there is no heart to do it.

Yes lawyers cover lawyers and not the victims.
