But the Bay area has corrected back to 8 1/2 years ago so the continued free fall in prices that is predicted should bring us back to what prices were 10 years ago.

I'm all for it... now if I can find away to convince the Tax Assessor...

They sent me notification on my request for informal review is "No Change" and stated they have 2 years to complete the appeal process... meanwhile keep paying the increased amount...

Wonder if I could sell and buy it back

Previous Owner paid $1200 a year and I'm up to $9400 and rising

to really get back to where we were 10 year ago don't we need wages to correct back 10 years.

No, because housing in the Bay area has long since been so far out of line with wages.

That's not entirely true. Perhaps in some of the nastier areas that were truly inflated things are nearly that low. But in the preferred hoods, it's only back to a couple or three years ago's prices.

Same thing down here. If you define "Bay Area" to include Stockton and Modesto, then sure. Just like I keep hearing SoCal prices are way down but really all the big hits have come in the Inland Empire, deserts, and ghettos. Any place normal people would want to live without driving 3+ hours a day to work is still damn expensive.

The average american can't afford to live in CA, that is why housing prices are plummeting.

Default California

The average starting salary for RN's is about 25/hr. My mom is an RN and she makes about 45/hr, but she has worked for many years. It is earier to get a house now because of the forclosures, because people cannot pay for the price of housing. Other than that, I would recomend moving out here. You can make it work, but you may have to sacrifice a little.

I tend to agree with this. The market wasn't sustainable. You can only stretch a rubberband so far and sooner or later is breaks.

San Francisco General was hiring new grad RN's starting at 100k... I've posted the link previously...

I know ER/Trauma Nurses that take home a lot more... based on overtime and differential...

Surgery Centers start new Grads @ 32.50.

I've posted about a young couple, high school sweethearts, they are both 25... he's a police officer and she's a RN... they make 200k combined...
