I hope people don't migrate to Texas. I hope there are more bashers of Texas out there cause traffic is getting bad here. The last thing i want is a longer commute to work. PLEASE DO STAY OUT OF TEXAS...PLEASE DO!!

Actually it's what the folks around me here tell me. Nobody, I mean nobody here clamors to get to Texas. Texas is a place you move when you have no other options and then you spend your time there hoping like hell you can get out.

More than happy to oblige. Not even a place I'd want to visit again.

People are pretty regional, someone from the east coast is generally not going to want to move to the Southwest. It has nothing to do with Texas in itself. Also, liberals will tend not to want to move to Texas either because they view it as a "red state" and this has nothing to do with Texas with, just their political ideology. I seriously have no idea why someone would describe Texas as "hell", it has a number of nice areas, it has a growing and strong economy, affordable housing, etc. About the only negative is the weather, but states in the region have it even worse.

Anyhow, I was born/raised in California and I'm considering Texas. There are plenty of others just like me.

Should I just fart back to this?

Let us know how much you love it after you're there awhile. I'd be curious to hear what's attracting you there.

Virginia's not exactly a bastion of liberalism.

Dallas, Austin, etc are not much different than Southern California. The more rural areas are not much different than the rural areas in the Central valley. There are far more similarities between Southern California and Texas than dis-similarities.

Regardless, you want to bash Texas and I'm not going to bother stating the obvious against such inanity.

Back to the titanic, I mean California.

What part of CA are you from? Inland Empire? The areas I lived in bore next to no similarities to TX. Maybe Barstow or Bakersfield would.

I've lived in Los Angeles, Ventura county and Orange county. But I'm familiar with the entire region.

Are you even serious? I have no idea why you are trying to compare an entire state to small cities. Obviously, you know little about Texas. I'll leave it at that.

So, unemployment in California? What is going to drive growth going forward?
