Hollywood celebrities are definitely élite and this stuff is all the rage amongst those people.

A 16 year old “child” can get married in Alberta if they have parental consent.

On a broader level, this is yet another issue where élites appear out of touch with the majority of the population. If you listen to the media, politicians, and other so-called opinion leaders, you'd think that half or more of Canadians are completely outraged and against what Danielle Smith announced.

Yet polling shows about three quarters of Canadians agree with her.
Why would gender transition require a mastectomy? Is that because children do not have puberty blockers young enough, so they develop breasts and then amputate? Doctors are now growing and removing breasts depending on gender choice?

I've read studies about puberty blockers and bone density in trans adults. It's early days, but it sounds like a risk; a pending serious induced osteoporosis lawsuit against Canada's health care system for experimenting on children. Double mastectomy for vanity reasons? Mental health was intact?

As children, didn't we all wonder what it is to be the opposite gender? Didn't girls look at boys who run faster, boys look at girls coy in their dresses, and wonder what it is like to be them? Sure we did, but then we got used to who we are ... for the most part.
"As tensions rise over the medical care of trans children, a new analysis shows hundreds of adolescents in Canada have undergone female-to-male “top surgery” — double mastectomies — over the past five years."
National Post
"Sex hormones affect:
  • Primary sex characteristics. These are the sexual organs present at birth. They include the penis, ******* and testicles, and the uterus, ovaries and vagina.
  • Secondary sex characteristics. These are the physical changes in the body that appear during puberty. Examples include breast development and growth of facial hair.
...

In general, puberty begins around age 10 or 11, though it may start earlier or later. The effect of puberty blockers depends on when a person begins to take the medicine. GnRH analogue treatment can begin at the start of puberty to delay the development of secondary sex characteristics. In slightly later stages of puberty, the treatment could be used to stop menstruation or erections. It also may prevent further development of secondary sex characteristics.
...

If individuals assigned male at birth begin using GnRH analogues early in puberty, they might not develop enough skin on the penis and s****** to be able to have some types of gender-affirming surgeries later in life. But other surgery approaches usually are available.

Those who take GnRH analogues typically have their height checked every few months. Yearly bone density and bone age tests may be advised. To support bone health, youth taking puberty blockers may need to take calcium and vitamin D supplements."

This is going to seem crass, but if amputating breast is the definition of man, and implanting breast is the definition of woman, what is going on with these men? They seem to have breasts even though they are not that old - no older than soldiers.

How do people with elective double mastectomy deal with men with breasts?

I think sexual consent and marriage should be pushed up to 18 too, but I think it's also easier to divorce than to reverse the effects of some of these medical procedures.

Oh yeah and some people say breasts can be reconstructed anyway but they won't be like natural breasts that are sensitive to the touch in the same way or that can feed a baby

It's an insane argument.

The looney left would like to expand sex changes to children as young as three. These people are deranged and should be locked up. Last time I checked, the only people who are obsessed with the sexuality of prepubescent children were ChoMos and toddler touchers.

Come now. Some where (at least originally) quite fit. Became drama teachers. The rest is history.

Why do so many journalists sound like they're choking back tears when dealing with this subject?
