No trans youth have travelled to other provinces for bottom surgery, said Wong, a pediatrician at Stollery Children's Hospital in Edmonton.

"Across Canada, there are strict guidelines, generally, on this particular surgery for pediatric patients. It's pretty much prohibited."

“Minors do not however require the consent of their parents to get an abortion in Alberta, nor is it required for parents to even be notified about their minor child’s abortion,” part of the pre-recorded message said.'

The survey came from a number representing National Public Research Canada.

CTV News has been unable to confirm who was behind the survey, but it appears the automated voice on the call failed to identify themselves, breaching Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) rules.

Who is National Public Research Canada - only source I could find is from 2014. The company has initiated internal self-sponsored polls in the past, so that might have happened again.
" ... survey was "an internal self-sponsored" effort by National Public Research Canada, a subsidiary of voter contact firm PrimeContact Group, said president Josh Justice. The former local Liberal organizer said his group wanted to test the "electability" of confirmed and rumoured candidates."

She also provided interesting information about the absence of medical experts in the field of gender transitioning in Alberta. Who knew that people had to go to Quebec for that medical care?

I guess we’ll find out eventually.

It's insane that was ever allowed. Another sign of societal decay. Alberta made the right call on this.

People (even the media and politicians) claim that top surgeries are not being carried out on minors in Canada.

They're lying through their teeth: https://nationalpost.com/news/canada...adian-children

On a broader level, this is yet another issue where élites appear out of touch with the majority of the population. If you listen to the media, politicians, and other so-called opinion leaders, you'd think that half or more of Canadians are completely outraged and against what Danielle Smith announced.

Yet polling shows about three quarters of Canadians agree with her.

I am still awaiting for a single heart warming story about a child of an elite transitioning. Not asking for the gory details of chemical castration or chest chopping. Just tell us, CBC: Here is little Jessica (formerly Mike), an offspring of the Cabinet Minister, shares delights about a new life in a new body".
