My father is in the last stages of Stage 4 lung cancer...non small cell. He was diagnosed last Nov 2012, and now at the end of 13 months, hospice is here twice a week at Mom's house. They think he may have only a few weeks left. He has gone from 240 lbs down to about 150 lbs and is very frail. I fly down to help Mom and visit with Dad as often as I can and am down here now spending the holidays with them. I try to make memories with Dad now, and talk to him when he is up to it. Anyway, thanks for listening...I was actively on this site for years and have been away for a few years but something has brought me back here and helped me find this forum. Thank you for any positive thoughts...we have a rough start to 2014 coming...
Welcome back Tim! I am so sorry to hear about your father. I am glad that you are able to spend some time with him and your Mom for what may be your dad's last holiday with the family. I pray that God gives you the strength and wisdom you need during this very difficult time. I will keep your father and family in my prayers!

I am so happy you have come here and that you are having some very special moments with your father. Those are so important and will be memories for the rest of your life! And I sure know what you mean when you say you are off to a rough start for 2014--

Yesterday was a pretty good day here too 940--and like Jaxson said we celebrate those days. Looks like we are about to get some extremely cold weather this next week so I'm trying to get as much done outside as possible before it hits. I didn't think it got this cold here in the South--guess I was to use to CA. Oh well we did get our seasons here!
