cyn can you stimulate in the future that returns over so much the buyer is responsible for shipping costs? That really stinks sorry it didn't work out for you.
Merry Christmas hope you can find the joy this season brings & spend time counting your blessings. That is for all that is reading this thread as well.
And a Merry Christmas to you and yours, Jaxson!
I'm not an ebay expert by any stretch- never having even bought anything from the site- but my DH does and he commented that if one posts the item for "as is", no returns, then the buyer has to eat the item if he/she buys it and doesn't like it. I had no idea that the seller was responsible for paying for return shipment. I could see if it turned out to be a defective item, but just because the buyer sees the item, decides he "doesn't like it", shouldn't be a reason to return it, especially at the expense of the seller. Of course the folks who use that excuse to get an item cheaper than they would have would likely make up a reason that the item was "defective".
Of course, I don't know that always selling "as ises" would do much for the overall sales business.
The buyers can never do any wrong--or so ebay thinks! I do many used items "as-is" but we could see no reason to list this as such as they were really beautiful and I do know because I worked in plating in CA. Where I worked I delivered anodized items but many of our items were sent out for chrome and I knew the places---so I do know the quality of their work but since we did not put "as is" we will eat it. And only under certain situations can I refuse to pay the return shipping and this guy said our description was not correct so ebay will side with him--they take care of the buyers but not so much the sellers. Yep--I want out bad from ebay right now but DH sure doesn't need more stress so it's not something I will even bring up. He knows my feelings. There are to many other options online for people to buy items and they are using them----even my special vintage items aren't selling like they use to. I am trusting in God to show me the next step.
Cyn, you are never alone. Not with this group of folks.
Wishing you and hubby a peaceful and hopefully as stress free a Christmas as possible.
