Fancy Feast is junk food. It's not healthy at all, and has grains, fillers and meat by-products. Please feed your kitties a premium cat food. It's much better for them.
Not all FF is junk food! There are several flavors approved for diabetic cats that are on grain free diets.

This I know nothing about. But my cat only gets premium cat food. He had 10 years of living outside scrounging for whatever he could find to eat, and now he lacks for nothing.
Chicken is good for them, especially if you make it yourself...and I don't think it's terrible to let them have a few treats here and there, I mean hey, we eat McDonalds sometimes too, right? LOL! I've never tried Newman's Own, but the ingredients sound good to me. We stick to Wellness around here, and they really love it, they meow their little hearts out at food time and always lick their plates clean.
Every month Wellness puts out a newsletter that has coupons in it. One is for $3.00 off a bag of cat/dog food, the other for $1.00 off a can of food. I've been using the coupons at Unleashed (a new store, and a division of Petco) since last year. I print out 30-40 coupons for canned cat food, and always ask when I go into the store if they will accept that many. I've never had a problem until yesterday, when this particular manager and cashier on duty didn't want to accept them, but the manager said that he would do it this time only.
I told him that it wasn't a problem, I just would go back to shopping at PetsMart and PetPeople. At $1.49 per can, I was saving quite a bit on food. So no more Wellness for my furkid. If that's the way they're going to be, I'll take my business elsewhere.
Sadie was a total beggar. She wanted to see EVERYTHING that I was eating...and didn't turn much down. LOL That's why I wasn't sure if I wanted to start this with my new ones.
I had one like this. I found the best thing to do was to make her wait for it. I'd tell her "sit down and wait" and I'd set a little aside for her. She had to mind her manners and wait patiently and not bother me. If she did that, I would tell her she was good and give her what I had set aside for her when I was done with mine. If she engaged in any behaviors I did not want, I'd call it out immediately and tell her she ruined her chance and now she wasn't getting any, and then I'd eat what I had set aside for her myself. She learned very quickly that she would get her taste of what I had just for sitting near me quietly.
The key is, never give them any when they are rude. If they get up in your face or try to take it off your plate or meow incessantly or whatever you don't like, don't give it to them. When they act like little angels, that's when they get the good stuff.

So I'm guessing that's the only store in your area that sells Wellness? 30 - 40 coupons is a lot, but if Wellness doesn't have any stipulations about how many coupons can be used per person, then the store should honor them regardless. BTW, I have to drive an hour out of my way to get Wellness for my animals because I refuse to shop at Petland...they're puppymill brokers and I won't give them a dime! Pet's Barn has some Wellness cans and the regular dry cat food, but no Core and nothing whatsoever for my dogs. Ahhh, the things we do for our furkids...but they're more than worth it!
Wellness has a stipulation of one coupon per purchase per customer. I emailed them and told them that if that's the case, they shouldn't be on the internet. So I'll be buying only Blue Buffalo, Merrick and other premium foods, excluding Wellness.
I've already emailed Wellness again to take me off of their mailing list, and I threw out my Petco PALS card. I'm on unemployment, and the coupons really helped me.
