So, his son is blaming his wife for the false report.
You ever get the feeling this is not going to be a happy family dynamic once he's gone?
I feel bad for all of them.
Tony's wife of 40+ years is 75, herself, and probably emotionally and physically exhausted, maybe not as sharp in her older age as she used to be. She miscommunicated, possibly even misunderstood the situation.
I hope his son is holding up o.k. We all have such fond feelings for his dad and I know this must all be a huge gut punch for him. Losing your dad is never easy.
We went through something like this with several of my grandparents. 2 of them went, just snap your fingers and they're gone. While the other 2.. Lingered.
Both the ones that lingered.. One had a stroke and the other was end stage lung cancer.. They.. Held on pretty much just long enough for all the family to get there and say goodbye. So, not a long time, but..
I'm sure the family is feeling a little relief right now that he's out of his misery. But, having those feelings can be quite difficult. This way of dying is so hard on those left behind. So many times people get angry at themselves for feeling an odd sense of happiness after someone who has been suffering passes.
Thanks. Liver cancer is a bad one. Once it's there, it's just matter of time, especially at 75.
I'm still wondering if he did die, she released it before everyone was notified so they retracted it. Possible grand kids or other family didn't know, so they made her the fall guy to try to save face. Makes the most sense to me, unless she was not there with him.
The son's statement sounds like she is not in the room with them while he's dying. Some people are like that, they can't watch someone die.
Tony Dow, known for his role as Wally Cleaver on "Leave It To Beaver," has died ... a day after a premature death announcement was made from the actor's management team.
A new statement made on Tony's Facebook page Wednesday from his management reads, "We have received confirmation from Christopher, Tony’s son, that Tony passed away earlier this morning, with his loving family at his side to see him through this journey."
As for the cause of confusion, Tony's manager tells us Tony's wife, Lauren, who was very distraught at the time, believed her husband -- who had been in hospice -- was dead.
Tony's son Christopher posted Tuesday, "Dad is at home, under hospice care, and in his last hours. My wife and I are by his side along with many friends that have visited. He has a fighting heart."
Tony was a champion diver before landing the role of Wally on Leave it to Beaver.
Only 12 during the first season, Tony Dow looked a bit older, a strong looking kid too,
maybe that is why they had 2 year older Ken Osmond play his buddy Eddie Haskell,
and Frank Bank (Lumpy Rutherford), 3 years older.
