We are finally - after 3 delays - headed to Charleston for 6 days to explore the area for possible retirement.

See that the weather looks great - a few thundershowers Sun/Mon but other than that 80ish.

We have plans to eat outside each night @8pm - wondering if it cools down at night and I should bring sweaters of if I will regret the space they take up in my suitcase.

Thanks to everyone for all of your help answering numerous questions, and for some of you who were nice enought to even drive around and take photos for us. Unbelievable! It was an immense help.

We've seen historic Charleston, so won't venture downtown, but will see Summerville, Johns Island, James Island, West Ashley, Folly Beach, Beachwalker Park and more of Mount Pleasant. It will be a busy week, but I think we'll have a good idea at the end of it where to focus our house hunt. Have camera & notebook packed.

Thanks again - you've all been great!

I would leave the sweaters at home!

Last night was a very pleasant evening weather-wise and I think we're in for a bit warmer today/tomorrow and into the week.

Enjoy your stay

If your going to be eating outside in the afternoon,,you should buy one of these. Its the best thing for mosquitoes! Its quiet and odorless. Just turn it on and set it on the table.

The evenings will feel cool to us but to you they'll probably feel toasty..... Definitely bring summer clothes and an outfit for a chilly day with a sweater. I always figure if I don't pack perfectly, there is always a dept store not far.....it takes the stress out. You are coming at a perfect time. We've had some really blah cool days but the weather this upcoming week looks perfect....not too hot and not too cold.

Great thanks.

We love Shem Creek & wanted to have lunch and a drink there outside once we arrive.

Did that at Waters Edge last time. This time were thinking Vickerys. Is the food OK there?

That depends greatly upon your personal tastes. Having been multiple times I have yet to have what I consider a good meal. We wouldn't continue to go, but some friends like it and sometimes invite us along. There are better choices (for us).

Bring summer clothes. I would pack a sweater if you are the type of person that gets cold in air conditioning. You can keep it in the car and go get it if you are cold in a restaurant.
