Chas doesn't need an amusement park in my opinion. Chas needs something like Great Wolf Lodge. A family resort would be a major economic win for the area.

Well we wouldn't necessarily need to build a completely new area for an amusement park, expanding whirlin' waters would probably be just as effective.

Though the biggest stand out to me is at the end where 40% of families are planning a road trip to an amusement park.... we should do something to help ourselves along in that respect.
A few years back, maybe around 2006 or 07 there was talk about an amusement park planned just north of Cane Bay Elementary School on U.S. 176. Was to be developed by Ross Perot and land was being cleared until the 2008 downturn.

It wouldn't work out there unless that build a highway going strighr there . That highway they are putting to canbay now wont be suitable for it. Needs to be a full 4 to 6 lane with no stop lights ect. Maybe one day but the market is here. Im surprised no one hasnt tried to jump on board with it yet.

If i had the money I would purchase drum island. Thats a perfect location. Right by charleston and all higways

I doubt Drum island will ever be developed as it's far more valuable as a spoil island to keep the harbor dredged.

I can't see Drum Island being used for anything in the foreseeable future, especially something that will require a bridge.

Anyone know if there are new buildings going up at West Edge? The website hasn't updated since July when Publix announced they were going to be in one of the buildings, though I noticed while leaving Mt. Pleasant the other day that there were a few more cranes in that area of the peninsula.
