BOA & Wach are in the top 3 of employers of Charlotte, yes it is top loaded w/banking, but someday things will turnaround...the city has too many positives for it not to....
I toured that Lance plant back in the 70's when I was in the Cub Scout. Interesting place.
While still in school Lance had summer jobs for students ... hubby got a job there for the summer ... in cheese cracker packing ... conveyor belt with cheese crackers moving speedily along and one had to manually pack the crackers in a box for shipping ... the conveyor belt did not stop ... cheese crackers keep moving moving moving fast and you have to keep packing ... if perchance during that time period you happen to buy a pack of cheese crackers and they were broken or crushed ... that was his ... he packed them!!
Cotton is King is gone forever ... the textile mills will never return ... I just hope and pray the banking catastrophe doesn't hurt Charlotte too bad.
charlotte still is one of the largest distribution hubs of the east coast
