We found us a house to rent in the Callonwood Subdivision. Now my questions are what town is it in, what county is it in, what phone service area is it in, etc.

The real estate person says it is Matthews and Meckinbury, but some of my future neighbors says it is Stallings/Union.

I did s similar post on Saturday, but it disappeared. Lovesmountains even responded, but I never could get it to open using the motels computer.

Also how is Windstream for the phone/internet service.

Hope you can open this one... I am 99% sure it is Stallings and Union County. It may very well have a Matthews mailing address (which could be why the realtor is confused), but is still Stallings.

Yep - I am home so can open this one.

One of the neighbors said some use Stallings and some use Matthews. Mainly now I will call Duke Power (electric), Piedmont Gas, Union Water and phone service is "Windstream".

Do you know anything about Windstream?

Also does anyone know a website that shows some average electric, gas and water bills? I have to give my bosses a projection of what my utilities will cost for them to set up my per diem check for repayment.

Windstream is who took over Altell about a year or so ago. Certain parts of south Charlotte and Union county are served by them. We've never had any real problem with them, though we tend to use our cell phones now for most long distance calls. Our basic service is $24. a month just to have a phone in the house. Your other costs will depend on the size of the home you are living in. A rough estimate is about $150. a month electric for a 1500 square foot home. Good luck!

You might as well after paying all the extra fees and the landuse or line use or whatever it is tax get the long distance!! It waives that 12.00 fee. Plus you have unlimited LONG distance! We dont' midn them, we have phone, internet (DSL 1.5 mbps) and DISH network with them. They are comparable to haivng a bundled service with Time warner, I just like having my phone run through my phone vs my cable and enjoy having all channels in each room instead of basic cable.
Gas can vary, depening on which appliances, if you have an address you can call those companies and ask for an average use for the past year.

resident - you stated that you had Windstream 1.5 mbps internet service. Is the 6.0 mbps available at Callonwood? We do a lot of work via the internet for the company we both work for. I am an longtime Directv subscriber, so will stick with that.

Also do you live at Callonwood? My wife is wondering if the Clubhouse has an exercise room.

I don't...I am sure you can check out Windstream's site. We went with that speed b/c it is just us..and we don't do much where we need the super high speed of down and uploads..

Default answer

Callonwood subdivision straddles the Mecklenburg/Union County lines (which are also the Matthews/Stallings city lines) and so the answer to your question is: both. The property's address and taxes are based on where the master bedroom is located.
