Take a look at this thread, the mayor posted comments about the plan way back in 2009. Her contact information is included in her posts. I sent her a few e-mails since then for an update, but never received any reply. Maybe you will have better luck. Let us know.

Hmm. NTE plugs in a 480 MW natural gas fired generator near a national gas line in Kings Mountain. Duke Energy unplugs a 450 MW 1929 vintage coal fired generator just east of CLT.

Net, 30MW For comparison purposes, the hydroelectric generators on the Cowans Ford Dam put out 350 MW.
