Which suburbs that border each other on at least one side, but couldn't be more different? (If they're separated by a river, count it as a border.) Namely, things like demographics, land use, public transit, landmarks, street layout, or even general character. You can go by either truth or by stereotype, just use the same for both.

I'll start with my own: Riverside and North Riverside.
* Riverside has a reputation of being quiet, upscale, and beautiful. The winding streets make it unique among its surroundings.
* North Riverside is somewhat rough and industrial, and has more in common with Berwyn than with its similar-sounding neighbor.

NORTH RIVERSIDE AND RIVERSIDE

Both are very similar of demographics white majority.
Riverside is more affluent but high property taxes.
N.Riverside is not less affluent by income but I say in property value yes and no. You get alot of serices in both but in N.Riverside it's safe as well and feeds into riverside schools which is vaule hard to find now.

Also it's more urban than rivereside but has a feel of its own and community is tighter I noticed when moved in and my frI ends who visited my home noticed it with the police and neighbors how close all are. Yes taxes are low in N.Riverside and it helps with good schools.

Riverside is nicer in historiCal value but N.Riverside is great bargain for price and taxes and schools and shares a similar culture to many suburbs like forest park oak Park and bRockfield more urban but suburban feel to it .

The mall isn't bad it's like any mall really kids messing around.... just enjoy and shop and they leave you alone.
For anyone looking into north riverside go to parks and Commons and town hall and you be amazed how close the town is which is good.
