Especially since Kirk won by a couple of percentage points.

My guess is Scott Lee Cohen

Cook County
Governor
Quinn 64
Brady 29
Cohen 4

Senate
Giannoulias 64
Krik 32

Brady got 3% less votes in Cook County, about 35,000 votes.

Not strange at all. Kirk is far more moderate than Brady, Brady turned a lot of people off due to his positions on social issues.

I agree if I'm not mistaken Cohen was also pro choice and wasn't so hard on his stance of marriage. Those issues moved moderate republicans to Cohen instead of Brady, especially in Cook County where there tends to be more moderate Republicans.

Sponsoring a bill to allow the mass gassing of puppies didn't help him much either.

you make that sound so bad...

I just don't understand how Cohen got even what he did, given the allegation/testimony he had beaten a live-in girlfriend. I mean, yeeeeeesh. Not even Blago sunk that low.

Quinn wants to tax the crap out of people and he wins?

Something does not add up here.
