I don't know the legalities of campaigning at the polling place but walking into the school gym where I vote on the northside, a burly looking fellow approached me and asked if I wanted a sample ballot. I asked what it was and he said something to the effect of "it's the democratic ticket". I declined and he just said "ok, thanks".

On the way out, I was approached by another guy collecting signatures to put Rahm on the mayoral ticket.

Is all this legal right outside the voting place? There was clearly a union presence on the sidewalk whether you were walking in from the north or south.

The rule is no campaigning, signs or polling within 100ft of a voting location.

These guys were all within 30 feet of the polling place. How or to whom do you file a complaint?

Call 911 - hurry.

here's one:

Toni Berrios illegally electioneering!

We have reports from multiple precincts that Rep. Berrios is delivering pastries to election judges – which is technically legal – but the pastries are emblazoned with her campaign stickers – which is NOT.

That’s illegal electioneering, and because of the way it’s being done, it’s easy to imagine why election judges might not be catching it.
If anyone sees anything like this happening anywhere else, please let us know!

Are you really supposed to call 911 with this sort of thing? That doesn't make any sense to me.

But I would like to know to whom one should complain -- Every polling place I've ever been to there have been workers/volunteers shooing campaigners away. This is totally illegal.

At my polling place a great many ballots were being challenged including my wife's. I figure this is the Republicans trying to slow things down; usually the less people that vote the better for them.

Is the line so long that people are leaving due to these manufactured delays? In case you weren't aware anyone in line is allowed to vote even if the polling place closes. I'm hoping I missed your tongue firmly planted in your cheek.

Otherwise I'm going to head back to my polling place to hopefully create even more delays!

If it were me, I'd head back to the polling place and pace off 100ft from the door. Inform them this is where they need to be standing then inform the election judges of what their doing. Lastly, I'd be sure to bring a camera to document the whole incident.

I'm retired and voted at 10 AM. And the challenges were slowing things down considerably even then. The Republicans like to discourage voting; look how they did away with straight ticket voting last time they controlled state govenment. If you don't like my reasoning then you tell me why so many ballots were being challenged, far more than I've ever seen.

I'm well aware that everyone in line gets to vote; (I've voted in every election since 1970, never missed one) that doesn't mean it isn't in the interests of some to discourage voting.
