The fact that this is the pinned thread on the Chicago board is quite sad, we need to give Chicago a more positive name and make it less of a scapegoat for crime.

Apparently there was a shooting at Guaranteed Rate Field tonight in the middle of the White Sox vs A’s game. Game was completed but lost game concert was cancelled. Two people injured. This looks pathetic and shameful for Chicago.

I've been thinking about this lately, and Chicago really falls into a unique category. Crime, as we know, spiked during Covid, has generally decreased a bit since peak but is settling higher than pre-Covid. This is pretty universal across all cities, so why is Chicago thought of in a unique way?
