Yeah, the narrative that Johnson won because of the north side is flawed.

He won because of racial voting on the south and west side, the same places that kept Kimm Foxx in charge.

The irony is that those will be the areas hardest hit by crime increases. I don't say that idly, stealing someone's car that is affluent is annoying. Stealing a poor persons car can be life altering. Not to mention shootings etc.

Yeah and when people stop getting responses...they stop calling.

This is why you may see "decreases" in some types of crime because people won't waste their time reporting.

Same goes for non-prosecutions, dropped prosecutions etc.

I grew up in the hood in the 80s during the Daley era. We realized the city didn't care about us. Perfect recent example was of a Pilsen resident who was stabbed to death in the back by a suburban marine who was literally twice his size and CPS detrmined it was self defense. I'm sure machine defenders will twist it and justify it any way they can. This is why people in the hood never call the cops. They take justice into their own hands. In the hood they don't have faith in the justice system. They handle it among themselves. Like it or not it is what it is. Until we restore faith in the justice system this is the way it is. Two tears in a bucket.

Uhm, no, the "CPS" (or the CPD, or the DA's office for that matter) did not determine it was self-defense; the stabber (Thomas Tansey) went on trial for murder. Oh yeah, speaking of "twist it any way you can," a) the guy was not "stabbed in the back," and b) you forgot to mention the part where it was 2-on-1, which could go some way toward explaining his acquittal at trial.

Also, I don't want to hear about how there's "no faith in the justice system" in the 'hood as long as the "no snitch" culture is alive and well. We shouldn't humor such laments from people who make it a point to subvert the very system they claim to have no faith in.

Now I see in places like Milwaukee and Chicago, robbing postal workers is increasing.

I just read an incident of this from the East Garfield Park neighborhood, recently.

Robbing postal workers seems particularly ill-advised. That's a federal offense and the feds don't play around like the local judicial system does.

Yes, many brokers have offices in Chicago but when I place an order it is routed through the servers. How could Chicago stake a claim to part of this transaction?

If they try to enact this tax all the brokers would leave the city. They do not HAVE to maintain offices in Chicago; they can just move them to Aurora or New Jersy or anywhere else in the U.S.

Would some brokers stay? Nope; their customers would seek the lowest execution costs.
