Wilco is "based" in Chicago, but the band originated in St. Louis, as on offspring of Uncle Tuepelo along with Son Volt.

Well, I mean Buddy Guy is originally from Louisiana but for all intents and purposes he is viewed as a Chicago musician. I would say the same for Wilco.
