"For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. " 1 Cor. 11.31
Are we able to judge ourselves? Jesus said to the Pharisees: "Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell? "
The Pharisees were not able to judge themselves.
And from Romans 2: "And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?"
And Jesus again on judgment: "Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again." Matt. 7
If we want to escape Judgment from God, then we must learn to judge ourselves, and not others.
Amen Brian, when you know what you are without the knowledge of Christ in your life, judging ourselves is not that hard.
He desires truth in the inward parts.

One of the most important lessons we must learn! The sooner we learn that, the better off we shall be.

Sounds like you found a convenient 'get out of jail free card'.
None of the verses declare you will escape judgment if you judge yourself.

Here's another verse from Romans
Romans 14 10You, then, why do you judge your brother? Or why do you look down on your brother? For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat.

No one escapes judgment for we all REAP WHAT WE SOW in this life...but we can lessen that judgement by taking stock of ourselves and correcting our errors.
i believe we will all be judged for what we do, but if we do search our own hearts and make sure we are clean instead of pointing our dirty fingers at others. then we will not be found guilty when judged.
Only because we are corrupt by nature do we always associate the word judgement with something negative. Ever heard of a positive judgement and a "not guilty" verdict ? I have.
