Obligatory belief to what is written has existed since ancient times in many cultures. Implying that coercion and fear of punishment; produces better soldiers?
Blood, sweat and tears; not the beliefs and opinions of men.

Sounds like your way of dodging difficult questions.

You must be kidding.
Jimmie, you have dodged my questions repeatedly.
I am STILL wating for an answer to my question about how you reconcile Jesus words of forgiveness and love against the so-called commands of God calling for people to enslave people, abuse people, murder people, rape people.

Maybe Jimmie should answered it this way to get it through:
Simple ... you are accusing God of injustice by your classifying it as abuse, murder, rape when:
[1] God has the authority to take life in any means he so chooses ... so it's not "murder"
[2] God did not command anybody to "abuse" ... that's your cynical conclusions only
[3] God did not command anybody to "rape" .... that is beyond cynical, on the border line blasphemous

1. The bible has recorded people treating others in brutal ways and hiding beind the lie of "God commanded it." Yet some people don't understand and think to theirselves "YES! God Commanded it!"
What disgusting hypocrisy. "Thou shalt not kill... oh wait, unless I want you to kill them for me, then it's ok." To say that God commands someone to sin, and commit acts of non-love towards others is the very definition of blasphemy.
2. I agree! God DID NOT command anyone to abuse.
3. I agree! God DID NOT command anyone to rape. I agree also that it is an absolutely BLASPHEMOUS idea. Glad we agree.
Jesus dying on the cross, battered and bloody.. "Father forgive them..."
This extraordinary act of LOVE... why is it so disregarded and tread under foot??

That (in bold) is you accusing God .. something which you are never going to prove yourself being correct as the created.... which is where the lie begins.

Great .... so quit it with your only accusational alternatives if it doesn't fit the twisted world of liberalism theology of God only being one such way.

Once again, it only being pompous that is forcing any other answer than Sparrow expects "yes, Father ... you better have"

Now, that's an elevated thought!
