Christmas because it is a pagan holiday? Any of you, or anyone you know of?

Well let's see...since Christmas isn't a pagan holiday I would imagine the answer to this question would be a big no.

However I'm pretty sure, but could be wrong, that JW's don't celebrate it for some reason or another.

The timing may have pagan roots, but it is a holiday to celebrate Christ's birth. It is, therefore, not a pagan holiday.

I don't because it's origins are deeply rooted in it. The problem is, people will not do the proper research to see if these things are so. I have, and the answers are quite real. christmas

Did you ever wonder what the economic impact would be if people stopped celebrating Christmas?

It's party time. That's all it means to most. Presents, family get togethers, winter vacations, Santa Claus, Decorations. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I think it's time we became more honest about what it means to us....personally.

Those are the reasons of why for me Xmas is something very intimate and private, I don't believe in celebrating it with parties or spending $$$$.

I prefer to have a long meditation on what Christ's life meant and try to tune in with him, that's xmas for me.

Respect!

Exactly.

There's nothing pagan about Christmas in my home....unless by pagan you mean exalting Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior and celebrating the birth of our Deliverer.

I think everything has taken on new meaning. Most people have absolutely no idea that some of our traditions had pagan origins. I didn't until recently. In my house we put Christ first at Christmas (and every other day of the year)...we don't exalt any pagan deities or recognize them in any way.

Ditto! Sometimes I think we shouldn't be so busy, tho... (Maybe it's just me! I get tired of people...)
