Jesus said those who hear the word of the Lord and keep it are blessed. He said those who love Him keep His word.
He also said He knows God and kept His word.
So if Jesus kept God's word then those who love God must keep His word just as Jesus did unless there is more than one way to keep His word.
Jesus repeatedly referred to the Old Testament teachings and fulfilled Messianic prophecy. He further said that all who believed His word, would not be judged (John 5:24); but, that those who did not believe, would be condemned by the very words He had spoken (John 12:48).
The words of Christ have been faithfully recorded in scripture/the Bible, where believers have no trouble understanding them.
Most have a problem following them however ...............
Love God, and love your neighbor as he has love us.
Love not the world, or mammon, but love God, and your neighbor, and you fulfill the law.
Were those the only commandments or ... a summation just as they were of the law? You know kinda like a Bill of Rights and then new laws to fit his followers in more detail.
Based on what do you make that claim emboldened above?
In scripture it means one in unity of purpose not identity. Jesus said the same thing of his followers.
John 17:21-23 21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. 22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: 23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
the "one" is in the neuter gender and applies to a unity of purpose, will, etc. Otherwise we are all God and God is more than 3 as Trinitarians insist, lots more.

Since none of the writers of the new testament ever heard Jesus and just wrote what was passed down by others, how do you know they were faithfully recorded? Wouldn't all of the contradictions prove that?
