Jesus said to abide in His word. That genuine worshipers worship in spirit and truth. That God's word is truth. Jesus quoted written scripture many times showing that the written word is important.

A word by definition is used by man to communicate first vocally, then by the written word. God communicated to man through the prophets by His word.

It is written in scripture;

"If you abide in me and my words abide in you, you may ask what you will and it shall be done for you. My Father is glorified in your bearing much fruit and becoming my disciple." (Son of man)

"Genuine worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth for God is spirit and those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth."

(Father)"Your word is truth"

We of the nations are not to do the things to DO Christ gave to Israel or to His disciples to DO. We are not the Circumcision nor are we Israel. We are the nations. We no longer follow Christ according to the flesh but follow the risen Christ according to the Apostle He set up for the nations, the apostle Paul.

The sermon on the mount is the law on steroids. We are not under law but under grace.

The disciples did not go to all the nations to disciple all the nations. In fact Jesus told them they would not finish the cities of Israel before He returned.

Also, the apostles recognized Paul's apostleship of the nations and Peter, James and John agreed that Paul is the apostle of the nations and P. J. and J. would be for the Circumcision. (see Galatians 2).

Peace

Jesus did not come back before they finished the cities of Israel. What does that tell you?

It tells me that He was not speaking of them nor Himself.

He was speaking of the true disciple who continues in His word.

That day is at hand. The cities of Israel in that case are not the physical cities.

When did John or James agree that Paul was the Apostle to the nations?

If the disciples did not go to all the nations then they did not do as Jesus instructed them.

Paul is mentioned nearly 130 times in the book of Acts (Which he did not write) and Acts 15 shows his assignment and the respect they had for him as a brother.

Acts 15:23-25 23 And they wrote letters by them after this manner; The apostles and elders and brethren send greeting unto the brethren which are of the Gentiles in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia: 24 Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave no such commandment: 25 It seemed good unto us, being assembled with one accord, to send chosen men unto you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul,

Peter confirmed that Paul was respected and should be listened to:

2 Peter 3:15 15 And account that the long suffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;

I prefer to believe they knew what they were talking about over those with a belief at odds with Scripture and need to denigrate one claimed as a brother by the Apostles.

Wasn't it Luke who wrote acts.? He was Paul's companion. What is written in acts is not scripture if those who were called disciples did not do what Jesus instructed.

If they did not continue in His word they are false disciples. I do not see they continued in His word and mission as He was sent.You may choose that path but I am sure it is the wrong path.
