Jesus warned that christians would be hated, despised, persecuted, etc due to their faith...so this kind of thing should be expected from the secular world, Ive said it before... its impossible to be a faithful christian AND a good model citizen in the secular community too.

Quite true, in the early stages, but eventually our faith dictates that we dont run with the mobs and take their economic MARK and in that way isolate ourself for loathing but must stay faithful to the Lord.
Church people though as you have mentioned do draw persecution because of their arogance, and supposed superiority, and poor judgments based on wealth, gender, so called intelligence, nationality bias etc.... do draw deserved persecution...whereas Jesus did not offend most unless they themselves were thinking they themselves were superior.
Yes. Now here is something very telling. Most of the posters here are anti Biblical and pro LGTBQP. There is absolutely no fear of the Lord (respect, awe, and being afraid).
I am not an expert in eschatology. But I think the Lord is moving the final chess pieces into place so that prophecy will be fullfilled
