It [what you believe about hell] is the reason you believe, so it's got everything to do with what you believe. A classic line from fundamentalists is...... "Why don't we all go out and live it up if there's no hell and all are saved?" So you are a christian because of hell and your belief in it.
Punctuation added. Understand now?
Thank you Pleroo. I should have you proof read my posts first before posting.
You are in denial Jimmie if you are trying to suggest that the thought of being in a hell eternally being tormented, did not cause you to be fearful and also play a big part in you believing.
Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
What is the Law if not to continually see Lord( the vision) before you. The psalmist said when he saw the Lord before him, His heart is glad, his tongue rejoices; his body rests secure. Read it yourself Jimmie in your bible Psalm 16 . The perishing is nothing to do with going to hell, but not functioning how God created you too. Happy, glad and secure
"I came that you might have life, and more abundantly"

amen--Christians are largely invited into a false sense of salvation out of an instilled fear of hell, even if they would not put it that way or care to admit it.

I know by what you are posting on this forum about the gospel* you believe in.
*It pains me to call what the fundamentalists believe a gospel or good news because it isn't.
