I've heard an interesting take on that passage that goes along with not judging "the flesh", I think. It's a figure of speech for looking away from the things others do or say to us that are not in keeping with who they are at their core (Christ in them). In another words, try not to give those things any focused attention, because Christ in us does not.

The thing is that in the moment that a person does/says something hurtful to us, trying to turn away is going to be difficult if not impossible. But, if during times that we are not interacting with that person, we can spend time 'practicing seeing them as God does', gradually, it can 'change our perspective', and perhaps less of those hurtful moments will even occur.
That's the 'hope', at any rate.

Thoughts?
Thoughts? Too many to write, I think.
I'll start with a short version I can say to you, but not everyone...
There is no try...take it out of your vocabulary.
difficult---take it out of your vocabulary, never say it ever again.
impossible- --never say the word again

practicing see them as God does....a keeper
Christ in them...keeper
change our perspective....a keeper
hope....a keeper

And you should ask for more hurtful moments, until you thank Whomever for each and every one...
because you have seen the perfection of each one making you the person you are meant to evolve into.
And then, they may not stop, but they will mean something different....
you will see clearly ...where they come from, why they are coming, and a whole different take on them (hurtful moments).

You will have gained a profoundly deeper wisdom....or in the least a detachment from
others' acting out, projecting, ignorance, ego, immaturity, low IQ, whatever...you will be free
of so many external events
disturbing your happy, inner contentment. Ah, freedom.
With what I've observed...I think you are about a week away from becoming
that very person you are destined to be. A person that has no cheek to turn...
because you took no offense from the start!

My 2 cents.

Hi L8Gr8,
Cute....
Close, since I was a Spiritual warrior for years inside my own head...then, I became simply
a Sentry at my post, inside my own head...and now all that has put me on an autopilot
of smooth sailing.
Whew, desire for peace of mind, freedom, confident clarity, (I would call following instructions to, 'give God my burdens'),
creates the inner effort that pays off finally!! (Grace does much of it...drawing closer to Him and all...)
Yay! So I am now more like this, thank God:

Excellent post!!
One of my favorite verses is James 3:[17] But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
