Obama stands on the opposite side of many moral issues of the believers. Some of his past associations have been with communists, marxists, abortionists and black liberation theolgy. Looking at these facts there is much reason for concern. What as believers should we do???

First, I think we should remember that from before the foundation of the Republic, Godly men and women have cried out to the Lord for mercy and blessing on this land the Lord brought us to. We should remember, it is the Lord who searches hearts and minds and knows them.

Like it or not as of Jan 20 2009 he is our president. The Lord knows what is in Obama's heart and mind, we do not.

Many believers in this country are getting visions, dreams and/or a knowing in the spirit that terrible judgements are about to come on our nation. Again, what should we do?

I think we should begin to fast and pray for mercy for our nation and new president and that the Lord would give him the wisdom and courage to do God's will for our land. What do you think?

Well, prayer is obviously the first step. We should never stop doing that. But we also need to keep in mind that he will be our leader, and as such, will be in authority over us. It's our duty to honor and respect that. But yes, always prayerful.

Pray for the man and his staff. If you didn't vote for him, he's still your president. I didn't vote for him, but he will be my president and I respect him and will pray for him anyhow. It is my belief that God must have wanted Obama in the White House for some reason and He surely knows more than the rest of us.

I'm not too sure about these visions/dreams, but to me terrible things have already happened: 9/11, Hurricane Katrina, the economy's downfall. Will it get worse? Probably, but the Bible says to prepare yourself for this.

I pray for the incoming President Obama, his advisors, all our government and for all the leaders of the world..I am an optimist and see better things for all of us in the future Times are tough now, but have been just as tough or tougher in the past..Lord willing it will get better and history will continue to repeat herself...I pray that we can all find even a small way to help heal ourselves, our nation and the world..and not sit back in fear and hopelessness..

When I first learned of McCarthyism in school I thought how could people be so misguided.

Certainly prayer, but I consider Paul's admonition in Colossians 3 to firstly consider ourselves dead, and that our lives are hid with Christ - following that foundation of living in Him, the servants can then obey their masters, wives submit to their husbands, etc., doing all as unto the Lord.

Basically, remembering that He is our king, and He put Obama in authority in the first place.

I didn't vote for him, but i'm giving this man a chance to prove himself, i hope he's a man of his word and will do whatever it takes to put this country on the right track.
What we can do is wait and observe. He definitely will be under the microscope. I wish nothing but best for him.

We have to remember and keep telling ourselves that God is in control no matter who is in the office of the Presidency He is in control at all times and maybe we don't like the newly elected President's past history but we are still to submit to his authority.

Put the fears aside and pray/hope for the best. We are mere mortals, we can take it as it comes.
