Lets figure this out, you who call upon the Name of the Most High!
It is very simple. "elohim" in the Old Testament and it's Greek "theos" can be used of people who are in a position of subjecting or placing.

For instance, the judges in Israel would subject Israel to the law of Moses and/or Place them under the confines of that law.

God told Moses he would be "elohim" (god) to Pharaoh and by that, Moses subjected Pharaoh to God's mandate to "Let My people go."

Jesus Christ is the image that we are beholding, do you not believe Jesus Christ is God ?.

Jesus Christ is the image of a God and it clearly states in the text( the text that you are so literal about) that we are being changed into that image(Jesus Christ who is God) we are beholding. The more we look and give that image our attention, the more we become aware that we are the SAME image that we look at, thus transformation occurs for we are what we believe we are.

The funny thing is you don't believe your own belief about this, when you look in the mirror you see a poor old miserable sinner, so how do you expect to become even more like Jesus never mind actually become as he is ?.

But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed INTO the SAME IMAGE from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

There is no way you can take this verse of scripture out of context, it means what it is saying. It is the very reason scripture throughout teaches to look to The Lord, looking unto Jesus, look unto me and live, to see The Lord before you, for as we do, he becomes us.
Of course I believe it. I'm not twisting it into something it doesn't say, though.

That's not Christianity. That's called panantheism.

No you don't, How can you look at the image which scripture says we are being changed into, then walk away and say you are a poor miserable sinner?, you've walked away and forgotten who you are(what you look like). What you are doing is not looking at the image which is the perfect law of liberty, but looking at the law that enslaves and condemns you.

But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom and continues in it – not forgetting what they have heard but doing it – they will be blessed in what they do.

What is it you hear when you look into the mirror ?.

Because I'm not arrogant enough to claim I'm better than the apostle Paul.

I'm a sinner saved by grace. Jesus died on the cross as a sacrifice to pay the penalty for my sin.

Better than Paul?,Who believed he was seated in heavenly places with Christ, how arrogant of him. O I forgot that's a future thing when we all go to heaven. If Paul saw himself as you do, he would be of all men most miserable, his faith would be not effective in any shape or form . Do you know how Paul ended up in heavenly places ? He took flight there when he realized that he was no longer the sinner he'd always thought he was but who God said he was, now that truly is a rapture.

1 Tim 1:15 "The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost"

There was no one worse than me before Jesus Christ came into my world, the earthly tent I live in that is condemned is not me.

What do you have to say about Paul saying that it wasn't him sinning but sin living in him ?. You think you are the person that sins and are in bondage trying to fix it up, Paul didn't believe no such thing,he knew what it was(his old nature),he went from that kind of carnal thinking that gave sin power over him, to being spiritually minded and living in life and peace, knowing his real I am(who he really is)was the inner man that delighted after the perfect law of liberty.

It's all right there in your bible, you just need to let go of your preconceived ideas of what you think the bible is saying to see it.
