The scripture says that Jesus was sent to be the Savior of the world, not the world of the elect. (1 John 4:14) God is the Savior of all men, especially of believers. (1 Tim. 4:10)
John 4:42
And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.
1 John 4:14
And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.
Seems you add to scripture, beloved57. Shame on you.

Both scriptures here refer to the world of Gods elect.. the children of the devil are exempted from Gods Love..
I know this may stir up a hornets' nest, but the term "world" is often used to describe the Old Covenant World, and needs to be interpreted in this context.
John 18:20
20Jesus answered him, I spake openly to the WORLD; I ever taught in the SYNAGOGUE, and in the TEMPLE, whither the JEWS always resort; and in secret have I said nothing.
Jesus only ministered to Israel, and he was a minister of the circumcision (Rom.15:8). As a result of him coming to that "world" and confirming the promises made to the fathers, salvation went to the nations (Rom.15:9)
Jesus came to judge that world (John 9:39), and Satan was the prince of that world, and was also judged (John 14:30, John 16:11). That 'world" was judged, and the city and temple destroyed. We now live in a new world (new heaven and earth). This is the world of the new covenant, new creation, new commandment, new wine, new song, and New Jerusalem (Zion). You cannot put this new wine in an old wineskin. The concept of the world has to be understood in it's covenantal context. Jesus came to die for the world, and so he came to die for Israel, and the world, they are one and the same in context. Salvation has come to the nations, as a result of God's covenant faithfulness to Israel.

The word world has several different meanings in scripture, but many are very careless in determining those meanings because of their prejudices and in order to promote their own doctrines....

Dera beloved57,
I am enjoying your posts, and your understanding of God's salvation for ISRAEL, and the elect. I agree the term world does have different meanings, and we need to be careful how we build our doctrine on different meanings. When we hear the term "world," we can interpret it to mean everyone on the planet without exception. Jesus did come to the "world" of Israel, and then sent his disciples into all the "world." God loved the "world" and God had a special covenantal love for his covenant people Israel. He was faithful to his covenant, and sent his son into that "world.
He was in the WORLD, and the WORLD was made by him, and the WORLD knew him not. He came unto his OWN, and his OWN received him not. (John 1:10-11). The Old Covenant world did not recognized him. His own (Israel) received him not. The Gentiles were much more receptive to him than his own.
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name (John 1:12)
