Going from Dallas to Arlington, isnt much of a difference. From Arlington to Ft Worth is like going to a whole other place. Its hard to explain. If you are not from the DFW area it is probably hard to believe, but the two cities are totally different and thats what makes having them next to each other so great. When I go to Ft Worth its like going on vacation to completely different state.
The biggest differents between Dallas and Fort Worth is Fort Worth people are real and Dallas people are fake. As far as one being more country than the other is more based on perception than reality. Dallas and Fort Worth sit right next door to each other. Fort Worth is comfortable in its shoes and Dallas feels it needs to shine. All you have to do is look at Fort Worth and Dallas skyline. Fort Worth and its suburbs are just as wealthy and prosperous as Dallas and its suburbs Fort Worth has 9 billionaires living in its city limits.
Yea and Dallas has the cotton bowl and a football team called The Dallas Cowboys...So much for that Cowboys theme you speak of.
The Cotton Bowl was called Fair Park Stadium, I think they renamed it the Cotton Bowl because Dallas was the largest inland cotton producer in the world.
Fort Worth does have a cowboy theme....ever heard of the Stockyards?
Hell the nickname of the city is "Cowtown".

While I agree that Fort Worth people are more real and Dallas can be a bit fake sometimes, I strongly disagree that Dallas is anywhere near as country as Fort Worth. Its not even close. Fort Worth is country, Dallas isnt. Dallas may have been historically country, but in the present day, not whatsoever. Fort Worth is proud of its past, Dallas isnt. Fort Worth tries to carry its past into the present day, Dallas doesnt.
Fort Worth and Dallas are fused together economically, but in no way do they even have similar personalities.
And before you jump me Kdogg, I like Fort Worth better even though I live in Dallas. I always have. Being country has never been a bad thing to me.

No that's not the biggest difference. Hell, it isn't a difference at all considering that it isn't real. People need to understand that the 30k credit card millionaires does not make up the majority of Dallas. You have pretentious areas. But that exists in every major city.
I don't see how Dallas isn't country though if Waco is. When I go to Dallas; I'm not like "Omg how am I suppose to fit in with these city folk with my country self". They act just like people in Waco and nothing they do is much different than us.
DC people are more urban; Dallas people just think they are more progressive and urban. However, imo they aren't much different than Waco.

They feel to same to me. They both have that Catholic meets Baptist thing going on. The architecture looks the same. They both have the refineries and you have that Cajun meets the South culture. What's interesting is that you think Baton Rouge resembles Mississippi.
