I just have to say this... I know everybody is teaming up on K.O.N.Y...., but I think he has a point. This thead should be Georgia Vs New Jersey... not Georgia Vs New Jersey, New York, and Pennslyvania...

How is that even fair... NYC's name should've never been brought up since it's not in NJ... If that's the case than Georgia should be able to grab affiliates. I nominate Texas and Florida.

We can change the thread to New South vs Mid-Atlantic... ding ding...

Or we can keep the original thread and talk about the great state of NJ and if they can stack up to an evenly matched state, population-wise... Georgia. Leave NYC out of it. I know it is temping, but if New Jersey can't match up with Georgia NYCless than NJ can't match up with Georgia... case closed.

Nyc(the residents) doesnt see new jersey as a connection or extension of itself.period
The nation did indeed feel the impact, but not as much as the close friends and family of the people who lost their lives. But I rather not get into that.

IS it pathetic? I never really like talking about my life on CD, but I guess I should since you are starting to get under my skin. My mother has worked in NYC my whole childhood (not in the WTC, but close by). On September 11th 2001, none of us could not get in touch with her until midnight. The bridge and tunnels were closed due to the firefighters, police and ambulances from NJ that the city needed. My sister, my brother, and I waited all day and night by the ferrys at liberty state park watching the smoke blanket the city, listening to ongoing sirens in hopes that our mom was ok- She came via ferry early the next day... Does this mean that NJ doesn't matter unless we're in the middle of a disaster? I mean that's the logic you're using.
So excuse me for being "Pathetic and desperate" but I thought that NYC and NNJ were more connected than ever on that very day.

Not to make you feel like crap or anything, but there's plenty of people in NJ who can relate. I'm sure you have a story too.
~

Anyway,
You say NYC doesn't see NJ as a connection, but the Port Authority of NY/NJ was the biggest business deal made in the whole metro- That's the epitome of a connection if you ask me (or anyone else with a brain)

I want to know why you hate the NYC MSA so much, it's what supports the city you love.

Have you even read this thread? Before KONY hijacked it, there were numerous postings about New Jersey with no mention of NYC or any other place.

With that said, however, New Jersey is sandwiched between two major cities and any attempt to ignore that fact is pointless.

Yeah, that was his original point (and it was indeed noted) before all the 'NJ sucks' stuff. The problem is, there WERE posters who named NJ pluses (myself included) that didn't include ANYTHING about NYC.

No one wanted to note that and it seemed folks were trying to say that the NJ posters here were only talking about NYC (which couldn't be further from the truth)

And I still believe that NJ can stand its own against GA (Philly/NYC...yeah those are luxuries...not requirements)

No he doesn't have a point because he's just as clueless as you.

Think of it like this. The state of NJ is a 100% metropolitan area, our NYC/Philly suburbs are just as much suburbs as the metro Atlanta suburbs- Yet we cant be a part of the city we're a metro of? What?. People point out NJ's high cost of living and make it a con, yet the reason is our location!!! AND YOU GUYS ARE SHUTTING US DOWN FOR IT- Basically, you guys are making it seem like we have a high COL for no reason. You're making the whole comparison out of whack being so un-realisitc..

You're telling us NJians to shut our mouth about having great access to NYC and Philly when we're the ones paying to live in the most expensive state because of that fact. Yoou guys need to shut your mouth in general, I'd have no problem with GA having great access to FL- I'm not going to get all envious over it.

I've tried countless times to represent NJ as a state, I've mentioned the shore (including Atlantc City), I've mentioned our strong job market and cities, I've mentioned the nightlife we have, and I've mentioned the skylands-- I even posted pictures- But that goes ignored by most because people like you who rather argue.

We can still count the state on its own simply b/c NJ's economic power, varied industries (pharma, chem, tourism etc.) and our cities are sizable enough.

Atlantic City seems to be the one independent metro lol

For GA, we definitely have to give you Atl (no small card by any means)

So I'll raise you a Newark/JC for one Atlanta lol.

That leaves us Paterson (great falls), Elizabeth (one of USA's greenest cities), Atlantic City (B'walk, casinos), Hoboken (clubs, bars), New Brunswick (Rutgers town).

On GA side: Macon, Savannah, Augusta, Athens, Columbus.
